Concept Artist
Tahra (KyoungHwan Kim)
Hello, I am character concept artist Tahra. I won the grand prize at the 2nd Nexon Character Design Awards in 2003 and have been building a professional career and working on freelance projects since 2006.
I believe that taking a break is equivalent to stopping, which is why I keep working regardless of the outcome. It’s through this process that I learn and discover more about character design.
Through this class, I hope to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained from creating countless designs and teaching numerous students.

Interview with
Concept Artist, Tahra
This class includes various examples of design elements and mini-assignments that students can work on themselves. Although design is such an abstract concept, I tried to explain it coherently by sharing my expertise as well as the good and bad cases of design.
It allows students to gain a proper understanding of character design in game development while focusing on more practical aspects, such as hands-on tips and examples, rather than theoretical jargon.
Character design is not something that can be mastered in a single class; it requires lifelong improvement and change. I hope this class helps you truly understand the concept of character design and that you continue to study and improve yourself afterward.
