Could you please share how you started your journey in the industry?
My journey into the industry truly took shape during high school, when I first discovered my passion for digital art. While I wasn't yet certain of my exact path, I knew illustration and concept art resonated deeply with me, leading me to enroll in an art university with a Visual Development major. During my time there, I dedicated myself not just to my studies, but intensely focused on building my personal portfolio, proactively seeking knowledge from external courses, and forging valuable connections with other artists. Unexpectedly, I had to leave college due to the pandemic, but all that dedicated preparation paid off: I was able to secure a job in the industry right away. I believe it was this consistent drive for growth, combined with a strong portfolio and the support of an active network of art friends, that enabled me to successfully transition into professional work.

Is there a specific reason why you chose this specific topic/themes?
My choice to focus on stylized/anime character illustration stems from two key areas. As a 2D artist working in the game industry, character art is my key strength, and over the years, I've had countless opportunities to experiment with and refine my creative process, developing workflows that I've found to be successful. But perhaps even more importantly, I often cast my mind back to when I was an enthusiastic beginner, eager to draw characters but feeling overwhelmed by the challenges. Remembering those specific struggles ignited a strong desire within me to create the kind of course that my past self would have truly wished existed – one that provides a clear, structured path to confident character illustration.

What makes my class different is that it's not just about how to draw, but also how to think about drawing. I guide you through the whole character illustration process, from start to finish, by focusing on the thought process behind each step. This course is built for your long-term learning. It's not just like following a tutorial for one project. Instead, I teach you a way of thinking that helps you learn and practice fundamentals on your own, and what to focus on. This means you get a learning mindset you can build on, so you can keep growing with your own unique art style.
