What are your unique strengths, and what makes this course stand out?
This class emphasizes accessibility with simple illustrations, making it easy for beginners to get started. Instead of delving into complex topics like drawing techniques or anatomy, I’ve designed the course to let students learn my drawing process and workflow through practical exercises. Additionally, I’ll share strategies for leveraging your social media presence once you’ve built a following for your art.

What were some of the difficulties you encountered in your studies, and what efforts did you make to solve them?
No matter how much you practice illustrating, it is still a challenge to get people to look at your work. To make it, you need to always be thinking about what people want to see. Therefore, you need to be willing to produce lots of work, and to do it consistently, thinking about what kind of composition, what kind of facial expressions or movements you want to make, and what kind of context you want to portray.

When creating illustrations, which part do you focus on the most? Also, what are the skills involved in expressing that?
Composition and layout are important to make the characters stand out. Even the same illustration can have a different feel depending on how you crop it and the pose, so always consider how to draw attention to the art. I also pay a lot of attention to the characters’ expressions, checking my face in the mirror and using various hand gestures to express emotions.

Do you have a message for prospective students?
Even when artists are motivated, very few are able to translate that motivation into action. We live in a time when action is far more beneficial than overthinking things. Even if you don’t get the results you want, you can use the experience for your next step, so focus on increasing the quantity of your actions rather than the quality of each one.
