Why Take This Class?
Did you know that illustrations and comics have different formats and methods of expression?
Unlike illustrations, which increase density by putting all the information on one page, webtoons require attention to the character expressions and emotions contained in the character's appearance, as well as the flow of cuts, directing, and speech bubbles.
In the Sogeum class prepared by Coloso, you can complete commercial cartoon characters optimized for various genres such as shonen comics, romantic fantasy, and drama through various training to express attractive characters.

Interview with
Illustrator Soguem
What are the instructor’s unique strengths/differentiations?
The point is that you can draw commercially appealing characters, such as lovely female characters and handsome male characters. In addition, my strong line drawing skills and character creation that make you immerse yourself in the cartoon are also my strengths. In this class, I plan to explain my strengths and help you learn easily.
If you had to choose the target audience for this course, what would it be?
I recommend this to anyone who wants to create a story by adding dialogue and other directing elements to the characters they have created. We have prepared a curriculum for character design research for comics, movement research, and character acting expressions so that even beginners can easily follow along.
What is the most important thing you consider when working on a comic?
The point is that you need to study the character's attractive visuals. You need to understand the characteristics of each part of the eyes, nose, and mouth and learn how to express them in an attractive drawing style. Also, we cannot forget the lively facial expressions and eye-catching compositions. Students can practice these elements by creating a page comic at the end of class.
