Hi, I'm Anurag Raj, a VFX compositor with over 5 years of experience. I've worked on campaigns for major brands like Nike, Puma, Google, and Sony, and collaborated with global artists including Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Don Toliver, SIA, Jennie, and XG.
My path into VFX wasn't traditional. I didn’t attend a prestigious film school or a specialized VFX program. I taught myself through YouTube videos and blog articles. It wasn’t easy, but that journey shaped my perspective, work ethic, and creative voice.
This course is my way of giving back. Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills, I hope it supports you through your learning journey, or at least makes your creative process a bit smoother.

Question.01
What led you to choose this topic of theme?
I chose to focus on compositing in After Effects because I saw a gap in the way it's usually taught. Most tutorials stay at a beginner level or focus too much on shortcuts, without diving into the “why” behind compositing decisions. I wanted to create something that reflects the real problem-solving, creativity, and attention to detail involved in professional VFX work, especially the kind that pushes After Effects to its limits.

What makes your class different from other classes?
This class goes beyond “drag and drop” tricks. I bring an artistic mindset to compositing, showing how to break down a shot like a real compositor, not just a motion designer. You’ll learn not just the tools, but how to think, troubleshoot, and develop a unique visual signature. I also cover high-end workflows like ACES, linear compositing, and CG integration, which are rarely taught in depth in After Effects.

Do you have any advice for your students?
Stay curious, and don’t rush the process. Study film, photography, and lighting. Reverse-engineer shots you love. Don’t be afraid to make subpar work on the way to something great. And most importantly, find your voice. Technical skill matters, but it’s your unique perspective that will set you apart in the long run, especially as tools and trends change.
