Metenee
Live2D Modeler
Hello, I’m Live2D Modeler Metenee. After 15 years of experience in the service industry, I taught myself the skills needed to enter this industry. As a self-taught artist, I understand the perspectives of clients and viewers better than anyone else and create VTuber models that move fluidly.
In this class, I’ll reveal my entire process of creating the latest Live2D models as of 2025. Through MeteneeCraft's unique production methods, which constantly explore new forms, I hope you’ll gain not only fresh perspectives and ideas but also practical skills you can use right away.
[Career] Handled sales, contracts, repairs, and support of digital devices for 15 years at a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market. Became an independent freelance creator after acquiring illustration skills through 3 years of self-study while working. Currently active as a Live2D modeler producing high-motion VTuber models. [Projects] - Mikami Renge, affiliated with VTuber production company NoriPro - Ryujinkaze Rhenji & Alexeiv Vladnov, affiliated with VTuber production company RiseON Project - Kamishama, member of VTuber group PokeV - Independent VTuber: Amatsuka Eru [Awards] Winner of the official Live2D contest Nijicon 38

What problems does this class help solve?
These days, with so much information available online, it’s not easy to identify what’s truly valuable. Busy creators often don’t have the time to research and verify everything themselves, leaving them no choice but to learn through trial and error. This Coloso class is the solution you’ve been looking for. It covers everything from A to Z on how to reproduce the quality of the example models. Don’t hesitate any longer. If you’ve been curious about my work and techniques, get started now!
What difficulties did you encounter in this field, and how did you resolve them?
The most challenging part of working with Live2D was understanding the human skeleton and musculature, which are the fundamentals of illustration. If you model without a solid understanding of the basics, your work will look awkward, and you risk losing your client’s trust. I concluded that the only way to overcome this was to internalize this knowledge, so I practiced by diligently studying and recreating reference materials. It’s difficult to gain a full understanding from the outset. Rather than jumping into the work blindly, you can achieve much better results by building a deeper understanding of fundamentals, such as drawing with professional instruction.
What are the market prospects for VTubers and Live2D?
To cut to the chase, since the culture of animated illustrations is already well-established, I don’t expect any major changes in the Live2D market. However, if you want to build a better career, you shouldn’t settle for creating ordinary work. You need to keep learning new technologies and stay one step ahead of the competition, which is why what you learn at Coloso is highly important to a creator. This is the reason I’ve decided to reveal all of MeteneeCraft's techniques in this class.
What are the key points to consider when completing your work?
Instead of trying to do something completely new, take on challenges one at a time, building on what you can already do. Since Live2D modelers must ensure consistent quality across different illustrations, a deep understanding of each process is essential. Let’s go step by step, starting with something like head structure and hair movement. There’s no single tool or class that works for every project. I believe that true value actually emerges from these seemingly tedious processes.

Illustration Data Editing for High-Quality Modeling
The quality of your modeling depends on the quality of your illustration data. From layer organization techniques to prevent issues before they arise to the details you should share with the illustrator in advance, even those with limited drawing skills can master data editing techniques optimized for modeling.

Basic Live2D Controls
Learn Live2D’s various functions tailored to match an authentic production process. Rather than simply memorizing features, gain practical knowledge by deep understanding of why each feature is used.

Extensive Expertise in Facial Expression Creation
Master techniques to efficiently create expressions that would otherwise take a long time to make. Get introduced to a variety of techniques, ranging from simple production methods using blend shapes to methods for creating eye-catching expressions during livestreams.

Face Modeling that Preserves the Look and Feel of the Concept Art
Dive into facial modeling techniques that preserve the illustrator’s unique style while enhancing the artistic quality of the work. Create character faces that capture both the dimensional depth of 3D and the charm of the concept art.

Enabling Expressive, Lifelike Reactions Through Body Modeling
The secret to achieving wide-ranging and complex movements in 2D illustrations lies in a logical process, which includes understanding human anatomy and assembling the model in the correct order. Learn body modeling techniques that enable anyone to create dynamic reactions.

Mastering the Use of Tracking Software
Creating a model capable of energetic movement is meaningless if it can't be properly utilized. Experience the whole process, from solving problems through camera and software settings to the control skills needed to move models freely using tracking. Don’t miss the bonus manual provided!
