Hi everyone, I'm GUWEIZ, a professional artist who has been drawing for 10 years. During this time, I've also had great opportunities to work freelance for various big names in the games and publishing industry such as Bandai Namco, Guerilla, and Harper Collins, as well as engage in fruitful collaborations with many more independent businesses and artists.

Without a formal art education, much of my art journey has been dedicated to learning and improving my skills so I can create better, more interesting work. As such, the focus of my energies has always been centered on making original art and creating a fictional world from my imagination. It's an incredibly satisfying but challenging journey that has taught me a lot about the process of making art and overcoming obstacles. I hope to be able to share this experience and knowledge with you here.

Why did you choose this specific topic?

I'm personally very interesting in creating original characters and illustrating their stories in short but impactful series, I hope to share this really interesting style of presentation with more people.

What makes your class different from other classes?

There are many classes on illustration and concept design, as well as panelling for manga, but this class is focused on making use of the strength of the illustration medium to create highly impactful visuals that can tell an original story effectively.

What would be the most important takeaway from your class?

Outside of comics/manga/manwha, high detail illustration- even in a shorter format - can be an incredible effective tool in storytelling and building an original world. The amount of believability, detail and atmopshere that can be presenting is a powerful option for any illustrator looking to delve into creating interesting original stories and characters.
