What do you consider your strengths as a video creator?
My main strength is my ability to make ordinary things look extraordinary. I pay attention to small but important moments that slowly form our lives, putting the spotlight on what may seem mundane. I also communicate stories using minimal resources. Wonologue videos are not made by a large, dedicated team consisting of dozens of staff. Most of them are made by myself, or sometimes with a friend of mine who knows nothing about cameras. Nevertheless, I can fully convey the story I want.

What did you focus on the most in the curriculum of this class?
As someone with no formal education in videography, I wanted to share only the essential knowledge required for video production. This is the first step of a long journey. For us to continue down this path, I think it’s important to gain confidence by studying the fundamentals such as cameras and their functions, as well as editing techniques, rather than trying to master everything about cameras. I also talk about what I realized and learned by running my own YouTube channel. I’ll share the core skills you need to freely express your ideas without making things too deep or serious.

In this class, you will learn the most effective ways to show the desired emotion and conversation through your own video. To do so, I’ll explain every function of the camera and its parts in an easy-to-understand yet detailed manner, and demonstrate that it’s possible to convey dramatic emotions only using subdued cinematic language.

Make sure to create videos yourself. I studied videography by watching countless movies, TV shows and series, and YouTube videos, and recreated every scene that I found amazing. What I’ll teach you in this class may be wrong or insufficient in some aspects. But the important thing is to gain much more knowledge by making videos yourself and mixing and matching what you learn to develop your original style. By creating videos on your own, you’ll figure out the direction you need to go.
