Why Take This Class?
There are lectures that teach product modeling and rendering skills.
However , there has never been an online class that provides detailed information on the entire process of making a modeled product a reality.
In this class, we will reveal as many as 29 process theories and process presentation materials organized by current industrial designer Jiwon Shin Shin, as well as photos and videos taken while visiting the factory, and know-how received directly from field engineers.
Coloso is the only curriculum that allows you to experience both actual on-site manufacturing and mass production processes that can never be found online.
In this class, you will learn 29 process theories in depth.

Jiwon Shin
Hello, this is industrial designer Jiwon Shin.
After graduating from the Industrial Design Department in Korea, I worked as a product designer at a Chinese branch company headquartered in the U.S. and launched over 10 products in the U.S.
Through this process, I was able to experience the entire design process, from concept planning to launch.
By visiting the factory in person, I was able to learn all the process know-how that was learned directly from the factory workers and engineers, which could not be found on the Internet.
If you know ‘process’, you can also do ‘product design’ well. We will teach you how to design based on an accurate understanding of materials, rather than just being a designer who is good at sketching and rendering.

class features
From research to production and testing, product design all-in-one curriculum
From research and ideation to the post-design process of mass production and production, usability testing, responsibility, and document preparation for design copyrights and patents! The 'real' product design practical process is all included in one lecture.
29 process theories and principles learned through real-life examples
Experience indirectly the theories and principles of manufacturing and processes, which have high barriers to entry, through realistic examples. In addition to gaining a deep understanding of the actual implementation process, we also develop the ability to prevent and solve problems that may arise during the production process.
Portfolio review and collection of overseas employment/study information
Based on the process and process theory learned earlier, we will learn how to persuade your design in a more realistic and concrete way. In addition, we will learn various information and know-how about overseas internship, employment, and study abroad processes.

interview
The story industrial designer Jiwon Shin wants to tell
What do you think your strengths are in the field of ‘product design’?
It is about constantly and continuously studying on your own . Product design may be seen as a field that only needs to be good at styling and presentation, but I think it is actually a complex discipline that connects various fields and skills . I believe that if you know a technology, you can apply it to an idea, and if you have the knowledge to make that technology a reality, you can present that idea to the world. I believe that one should not only be proficient in a specific field, but also have the ability to freely move across various fields and apply new knowledge to design, so I am continuously studying and I believe that my strength is the ability to apply this knowledge to product design.
What are the unique points of this course?
There are many modeling and rendering classes, but lectures on rendering and beyond are difficult to find and very difficult to study on your own. Based on my know-how from being in charge of the entire A to Z process of a design project, I would like to say that this is a class that embodies 'real product design practice' itself . It will be a lecture that will provide you with practicality that can be applied and utilized anywhere , just as product designers need.
What would you like to say to your students?
A product designer is not just a job that designs the appearance of products. I believe that my design can change user behavior and even the space where the product is used . Furthermore, it can improve people’s quality of life. Through my class, I hope that we can work together as product designers who have such a great sense of mission and have fun working together.
