Interview with
3D Character Artist Jiwoong Choi
I recommend this course for beginners because it starts with the basics and quickly moves through the entire workflow. Rather than a long video with a lot of repetitive modeling, this course is designed to help you learn the workflow by progressing quickly and cutting out the unnecessary parts.
Stylization is less detailed than the actual image, but the impact of a character’s silhouette is much more important. First-time students often find it easy to create simple real-world objects, but they encounter difficulties modeling unique objects suitable for games, so I would like to teach you how to do it efficiently.
This course is not meant to be about copying every part, but rather to show and explain the process of creating one object, so that you can create the other parts on your own. Modeling is not a cookie-cutter field like math, so it’s important to develop the ability to apply one thing in multiple ways when learning.
