3DCG Modeler
pfy
Hello! My name is pfy, and I’m a 3DCG modeler.
I currently work at a company that specializes in figurines and game models. In addition to this, I create 3D models for VTuber clients, ranging from companies to individual creators.
In this class, I'll guide you through using Maya, a widely-used tool in the industry, to create models. This course is also beneficial for those interested in the game industry or looking to create or become VTubers.

You'll Learn
-
Techniques and Workflow for Creating VTuber 3D ModelsLearn about the tools you need, their features, and shortcuts. Create forms through modeling and apply color using brushstrokes. Plus, you will study how to make simple models and more advanced ones with a step-by-step approach. -
Get a Feel for MayaFamiliarize yourself with Maya, especially its marking menus. you’ll also get important tips for character modeling using MEL. -
Reworking a Stylized CharacterInstead of focusing solely on drawing, you will find out how to organize layers to make editing and recoloring easier, get tips for arranging elements, and learn useful shortcuts. Pfy will share his thought process behind drawing and the purpose of brushstrokes while creating actual drawings.
-
Tips for Applying Weights During Bone Creation and SkinningDiscover how you can make the process of skinning a character model easier and more effective using tools. For parts that are hard to skin, you’ll practice by transferring weights with a cage model to complete the skinning process. -
Setting Up Your Model as Data to Create a 3D VTuberLearn how to set up your model in the form of data, including Unity features to import and convert it to a VRM model, set up its motion, and register blend shapes. -
Using Your 3D VTuberFinally, animate your VRM model using LuppetX. You’ll learn how to do that through tracking without using a motion capture tool, and the course will go over applications for using 3D VTubers.
