Hi, I'm Ikki. I work as an illustrator and also retouch webtoons. I’ve spent the past six years working on various projects, where I focused on creating rich lights and colors, and my ability to add sophisticated details has led me to retouching jobs, a key part of improving the quality of webtoons. I have also taught a number of learners and professionals who aim to enter this industry or build a more stable career.
In today’s webtoon market, creating work requires the collaboration of a number of staff. This means that you need to have a well-structured process that allows you to produce quality yet unique results in a short time. Unfortunately, many learners struggle with developing a systematic workflow or finding sufficient references, which is why in this class, I’m going to share the approach, basic knowledge, and reference application method required for a solid retouching process in detail, helping you enrich your experience in retouching.

What do you consider your strengths when you work?
The most essential quality of a sought-after webtoon artist is being fast. Since producing webtoons involves collaborative creation and feedback, organization and communication skills are also important. Therefore, building an intricate process to deliver results of the highest quality without delay, regardless of genre, is a must. To this end, this class explores how to evaluate webtoons from an objective perspective, as well as the steps to applying a variety of knowledge, with a focus on webtoon retouching.
How are your unique strengths incorporated into the class curriculum?
This class allows you to review the basic theoretical knowledge you’ve learned somewhere, including layouts, lighting, hue, and features of Clip Studio Paint, through the lens of retouching. Plus, with its curriculum, which proceeds from basic theory and its application to more advanced concepts, you’ll understand the key points and tips for practical work, leveling up your retouching skills with ease.
What are the purpose and unique qualities of this class?
A retouching tutorial typically only goes as far as sharing the types of layers and settings used in the video, which is no more than simply replicating an already disclosed style. This class, on the other hand, explores a range of theories and approaches to retouching to offer a much deeper learning process than blindly copying someone else’s workflow. Most importantly, I’ll share the theory application methods and visualization process I enjoy using so that each edit you make is fully justified. The ultimate goal of this class is to establish your own retouching style by infusing your individuality and taste into it.
Please leave a message for future students and aspiring creators.
I often find myself wishing for a guide that tells me the right answer when I come across a tricky job. But as much as I dream of such “cheat sheets,” I’m also constantly reminded that the solution lies nowhere but in my mind and that I can’t develop my own style without learning and figuring out things myself. In this class, I’ll share my editing techniques and how to apply them so you can become the best practice partner and mentor for yourself.
