Interview with
Sungmoo Heo, Gatan, and Erak Note

What are your strengths, or what makes you unique as an instructor?
Sungmoo Heo
I’m going to share my secrets and analytical approaches to drawing a character by applying various angles, poses, and body shapes and expressing them three-dimensionally. In addition, I will talk about the difficulties often encountered as an artist and help students develop the power to actively observe through the process of interpretation and demonstration of references.
Gatan
To help students understand, I've thought of a way to break down the coloring process into different steps. Even if you're having a hard time understanding coloring, your skills will naturally improve just by following these steps.
Erak Note
Since I majored in western painting in art school, I believe my strengths are my concise yet high-quality coloring skills and my ability to emulate traditional painting styles. Other than that, I also have a unique work process that I have built up during my 12-year career in the video game character art industry.
Who do you think should take this class?
Sungmoo Heo
This will be a good class for beginners who want to draw characters that are applicable in webtoons/games/animations, or for intermediate users who want to create colorful/diverse characters with three-dimensional and dynamic poses to broaden the limits of their human body drawings.
Gatan
I’d recommend it to first-time illustrators who want to color better, those who’ve been drawing for a while but want to refine their skills or those who like the style of Dungeon Fighter Online characters.
Erak Note
My class is not just for experts or those wishing to get a design job. Whether you simply enjoy drawing, want to create your own work or character as a hobby, or are aiming to produce something detailed and of high quality, you will find this class extremely helpful.
What would you like to say to those who take your class?
Sungmoo Heo
Doing a lot of copying won’t necessarily help you get better at drawing characters in different poses. To create diverse characters, you need to have an in-depth knowledge of human body parts, which you’ll be able to master in this class, from the basics to their application.
Gatan
Coloring is as important as drawing when it comes to creating an illustration. I’ve made this class for those who leave their drawings colorless because they couldn’t overcome the difficulties of coloring. By taking this class and completing its exercises, you’ll be able to naturally enter the world of coloring.
Erak Note
Ever since I made my sketchbook "Erak Note" in elementary school, I have spent most of my life drawing and painting. Even to this day, “Erak Note” is getting more of its pages filled, and I would like to share those pages with you.
